biotech for all
Everyone and their mother is a biotech enthusiast these days. It’s understandable - transhumanism seems to be the covert, orthodox religion of Silicon Valley. Humans have always wanted to feel more, do more, be more; the primary prison being the mortal form we were placed within by God. Biotech is the natural next step. Other recent movements, like Looksmaxxing, are naturally synergistic with biotechnology, driving further flocks to the field. This growth, however, has diluted the already weak standards.
I feel it imperative to differentiate myself from these lackluster hordes. My interest in biotech lies in the following specific areas:
- in vivo biosensing
- neural dust - ultrasonic wireless implantables for continuous nerve/muscle monitoring (Seo et al., 2016)
- wearable biosensors - real-time biomarker tracking in sweat, tears, ISF
- medical nanorobotics
- respirocytes (Freitas, 1998)
- pharmacytes (Freitas, 2006)
Coincidentally, these fields also represent the furthest to which I believe biotech should be developed. Further advancements should be outlawed, the books burned or sealed away, as the Watchers were.
